I am looking for some general info.. How many of you use a 4 dasy to 7 day scheudle to fit your specials, encore in? How much time do you schedule for recess? How much time for lunch? Do your teachers have recess duty and typically eat when their students eat? Do any of you use aides to monitor lunches? Thanks for the info. Sorry I missed the meeting today! Jodie

Jodie, I can share with you what we are doing and where we are heading with regards to a few of your questions. We currently are using a 5 day rotation, but are looking at making it a 6 day rotation to accommodate some type of intervention/activity period in addition to the 30 min/day we currently have built into our 09-10 schedule. Lunch is 30 minutes, but most, not all, have recess tied to it to take away one more instructional interruption. Our teachers do have recess duty with their grade level, but some work it out on a rotation so that one teacher has a break or possibly indoor recess detention. They do eat when their students are in the cafeteria which is monitored by 3 aides. I know this is running on, but hopefully helps a little. See you at our next meeting. Mike
